Stephen R. Funk, Esq.

Mr. Funk is a U.S. Patent Attorney and joined our firm in 2005, after working for the USPTO as an Examiner for 15 years.  Mr. Funk provides a wealth of experience in patents relating to mechanical, electro-mechanical, and chemical inventions.  While at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Mr. Funk was selected to serve a career development detail with the Special Programs Unit of Technology Center 2800 where he gained valuable knowledge of internal U.S. Patent and Trademark Office policies regarding petitions, re-examination applications, and re-issue applications.  Mr. Funk has been awarded the U.S. Department of Commerce Bronze Medal Award and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Exceptional Career Award for consistently outstanding quality, quantity, and professionalism in the examination of patent applications.  Mr. Funk specializes in prosecuting patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in a variety of technologies.  Mr. Funk earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electromechanical engineering from Virginia Tech and his law degree from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington D.C.
